Diethylene glycol is a transparent, non-sticky, and odorless organic compound. It is miscible with water and organic solvents. Diethylene glycol consists of two ethylene groups connected to each other through an oxygen atom. Similar to other diols, it has two hydroxyl functional groups (OH-). Uses: as a solvent in the petroleum and gas industry, polyester resins, plasticizers, nitrocellulose solvent, production of triethylene glycol.
