Soda ash

Soda ash, also known as sodium carbonate, is a trade name for sodium carbonate. This substance is known by other names in the community, such as soda bicarbonate, crystal soda, disodium carbonate, disodium carbonic acid salt, and washing soda.

Types of sodium carbonate:
A: Light sodium carbonate
B: Dense sodium carbonate

The difference between dense sodium carbonate and light sodium carbonate lies only in their density, particle size, and applications. Chemically, they are the same. Dense sodium carbonate has a bulk density of approximately 1000 kilograms per cubic meter and particle sizes ranging from 300 to 500 microns. The larger granular particles prevent the presence of dust and impurities, reducing the likelihood of particle dispersion during transportation.

Light sodium carbonate has a density of approximately 500 kilograms per cubic meter, and the particle size is around 100 microns. Heavy soda ash is often used in glass manufacturing, while light soda ash is used in the production of chemicals and detergents.

The Semnan Soda Ash Factory and the Kaveh Soda Ash Factory (Firuzabad) are among the largest producers of soda ash in Iran. They annually supply Iran's soda ash needs and have the capability to export to countries such as Turkey, Iraq, India, Ukraine, Greece, the United Arab Emirates, Armenia, Tajikistan, Russia, and others.

Two types of high-quality soda ash produced in Iran are Sodium Carbonate Maragheh (Kaveh Sodium Carbonate) and Semnan Sodium Carbonate:
- Kaveh Sodium Carbonate (Maragheh Sodium Carbonate): This factory is a subsidiary of the Kaveh Industrial Group and has the capacity to produce and supply high volumes of Kaveh Sodium Carbonate in both light and dense forms.

- Semnan Sodium Carbonate: This company, relying on its knowledge and experience, has the ability to produce significant quantities of Semnan Sodium Carbonate for various industries.

Packaging:
For industrial-scale exports, soda ash is packaged in 25 or 50-kilogram bags on pallets and shrink-wrapped. It can also be packaged in one-ton jumbo bags.
